Fiona draws inspiration from the works of such artists as Vermeer, Rembrandt, Velaquez, Pieter de Hooch, Pieter Claesz, Chardin, Fantin-Latour, William Nicholson and American artist John F Peto. Contemporary realist artists whose work she admires include: Jacob Collins, Sarah Lamb, Carlo Russo, Henk Helmantel, and Michael Klein. The works of some Australian artists she finds of particular interest include Cressida Campbell, Andrew Bonneau, Criss Canning and Lucy Culliton.
